[Rufus carefully slips from Rude's arms, not pausing as he gets the water started.]

I knew you can't resist me.

[Rufus is purposefully coy in how he slips his shirt off, playing up the corny factor as it falls to the floor.]

[Rude rolls his eyes. He can and he will resist as is needed. And he feels it's needed. He knows he shouldn't get frisky with Rufus when the man is hurt. Not at all.]

I'm resisting.

[Rufus finishes stripping, giving Rude a grin as he steps under the water. He's careful to keep water off of the stitches Rude had put in, not wanting to undo his work.

It does feel good to rinse the blood from his hair and when Rude doesn't join him, he turns the water and steps out carefully.]

[Rude offered a shrug. He waited for Rufus to get out, then gathered up the towel. He didn't stop himself from carefully drying Rufus off.}

A head wound plus an arousal is bad combination. Too many places for blood to go.

[He does let Rude dry him off even though he's more than capable of doing it himself, it doesn't matter. This is about trusting Rude enough to let him take care of him a little bit.]

[Rude is pretty sure that isn't how healing works, but he doesn't say that.]

[Rufus takes the towel from Rude to finish drying off, sitting on the edge of the tub while he waits to dry his hair carefully to avoid touching the stitches. When he catches sight of the wound in the mirror he can't help but wince, it looked worse than he originally thought.

He doesn't want to imagine what kind of world of hurt Reno was in for tomorrow.]

[Rude offered a slight bow to agree before heading to collect the requested pajamas. When he returns he offers them out.]

[Rufus is careful as he pulls on the pajamas, letting his hair fall over the wound before getting up.

The last thing he wanted was for Rude to be afraid for him but he knew he could be reckless despite his best attempts not to be. He rests a hand on Rude's cheek, kissing the edge of his lips.]

I'll be more careful next time. Come on, my bed is warm and you look tired too.

[He was tired, very tired. The kiss earned a light smile and Rude swept the other into his arms again. He carried his love and boss carefully toward the bed and laid him down on it.]

Agreed. But first, let me tell Tseng your orders. You're having the day off.

I suppose there is no getting out of it now.

[He settles down into the bed once he was set down, leaving room for Rude to join him when he was done calling Tseng.]

You know if I'm doing this so are you.

[Fuck calling. He's texting orders. He'd rather keep his voice for Rufus.]

I am aware. I can be your guardian for the day.

I hope you'll do more than just guard me, Rude. It will be just us.

[Unless someone needed him which was likely. He knew he couldn't resist whenever his phone rang or any emails. He had to be involved however he could.]

[Rude chucklse and catches one of Rufus's hands. He offers a light, lingering kiss to one knuckle after the next.]

I'm going to teach you bits and pieces of Costan language so you can enjoy soap operas more. And annoy Reno.

[He can't help but laugh as Rude kisses his knuckles, he loves the small bits of affection that Rude is so good at it, the ones that make him feel content.]

We should have breakfast in bed tomorrow morning. It seems like the perfect day to do it.

[Normally Rufus was against any kind of eating in bed since it made him feel helpless again, like he had to be waited upon but this was different. This was something that was special to them.]

I'll try and make crepes for you. Would you like that?

[One of his favorites but he would love any attempt Rude makes to do it for him.]

[Rude rolled his eyes briefly.]

Of course. Mi Madre used to make them for us, and I learned from her.

[At last he moves to start undressing, just so he can settle comfortably into the bed with his lover.]

[As soon as Rude joins him in bed Rufus seeks out his warmth, wrapping an arm around him.]

I look forward to meeting her.

[It was something that he's willing to do for Rude, considering his own personal family history. He didn't really remember his mother except for scattered memories here and there along with her funeral.]

Perhaps she'll teach me to cook something.

No doubt she would.

[Introducing her does seem a bit impossible. Rude will have to see how he can manage it safely.]

[Rufus laughs at the thought, shifting against Rude as he closes his eyes.]

If anyone has the patience to try to teach me to cook it would be you. When I asked Tseng to teach me to make coffee I thought he would have a heart attack and keel over.

Tseng is particular and worried you'd flood the kitchen with coffee.

[Tseng was more a man of tea, but Rude understand the way that he took any hot drink seriously.]

[Rufus doesn't bother to try to protest and say that would surely be impossible. They both knew that Rufus had a way of making the impossible happening whether on purpose or not.]

It will be strange, being able to sleep in tomorrow morning.
